Shafer essentially sealed the Pointers’ win over #10 UW-Oshkosh on Saturday with his second interception of the season. In the fourth quarter, he returned an interception 42 yards for a touchdown to give UWSP a two-score lead. Shafer also made seven tackles, four solo, in the win.

Steve Herra: Herra had four catches for 61 yards and a touchdown in UWSP’s win over #10 UW-Oshkosh on Saturday. His 34-yard touchdown reception was the second-longest pass play of the game for the Pointers. It was Herra’s third TD catch of the year, tying him for the team lead.
Victor Ponterio: Ponterio was 2-for-2 in field goal attempts in Saturday’s win over #10 UW-Oshkosh. His first of the day was a career-long 48-yard attempt that gave UWSP its first lead of the day. He added a second field goal early in the fourth quarter. Ponterio is now fourth in the conference with 39 points this season.
Alex Grubbs: Grubbs racked up four points as the Pointers swept St. Olaf in a road weekend series in Minnesota. She found the back of the net in the third period of the season opener for her first goal of the year. On Saturday, she netted a power-play tally in the second period to tie the game at 2-2. Early in the third period, she assisted on the eventual game-winner and scored her second goal of the game a minute later in the 5-2 comeback win.
