Hogan won the triple jump at the Pointer Invitational with a lifetime personal best jump of 11.30 meters (37’ 1”). She is currently sixth in the conference and 26th nationally.
Other Nominees:
Brent Reierson: Reierson won the weight throw at the Pointer Invitational with a distance of 18.46 meters (60’ 6.75”), a personal best throw by over a meter. He currently has the third-best mark in the conference and eighth-best nationally.
Sam Jekel: Jekel won two events as an individual and two as part of a relay in UWSP’s dual victory over DI Milwaukee on Friday. He finished first in both the 100-yard backstroke and the 100-yard butterfly with times of 51.89 and 50.86, respectively. He was the opening leg on the winning 200-yard medley relay that set a pool record with a time of 1:32.10. He also helped the Pointers to a victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay posting a time of 1:22.88.
Anna O'Malley: O’Malley won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.11 in UWSP’s dual against Milwaukee on Friday. She also placed second in the 200-yard butterfly clocking a time of 2:11.31. She also took third as part of the 200-yard freestyle relay that finished with a time of 1:42.99.
Lauren Smith: Smith recorded an assist in each of UWSP’s games last week. In Friday’s game at UW-Eau Claire, she added a helper on the go-ahead goal in the third period that broke a 0-0 tie. On Saturday, she set up senior Ellie Punnett for a tying goal late in the first period. With her two assists, she sits fourth on the team with eight on the season.
Mickey Roland: Roland recorded her second double-double of the year with a 10-point, 10-rebound performance in UWSP’s win at UW-River Falls on Saturday. She scored the game-winning basket with just two seconds remaining, snapping a four minute scoreless drought, as the Pointers held on for the road win. On Wednesday, Roland also scored in double figures with 10 points. She added eight rebounds and continues to lead the WIAC in rebounds this season.
Drew Fredrickson: Fredrickson poured in double-figure points in both UWSP wins on the week, his first back-to-back games in double digits this season. In Wednesday’s victory over UW-Whitewater, he scored 14 points with three rebounds and a pair of three-point makes. On Saturday, he scored 11 points with four assists, two rebounds and three made three-pointers in the victory over UW-River Falls. Fredrickson played 32 minutes in each game without a turnover on the week.
