O’Heron poured in double figures scoring in both of UWSP’s wins last weekend, setting a career-high with each performance.  He opened the week with 13 points, four rebounds, two assists and a block against UW-La Crosse on Wednesday.  On Saturday, he increased his career-best to 15 points, tied for the team lead in scoring.  He shot 6-for-10 from the field, including his first three-point make of the season, in the win over UW-Eau Claire.  O’Heron snagged six boards against the Blugolds, a season-high.  He played 65 minutes over the two games with just one turnover.

Other Nominees:

Taylor Barrett: Barrett extended her double-digit points streak to five-straight with 16 and 11 in league games last week.  On Wednesday, she was 5-of-6 from the floor with 16 points, six rebounds and a block at La Crosse.  On Saturday, she scored 11 points with five boards and two block at UW-Eau Claire.  Barrett is second in the league in scoring (15.5) through the first four WIAC games.

Brennen Miller: Miller sparked the Pointers offense both nights last week, tallying the opening goal in both games. On Friday night, Miller picked up his fifth goal of the season to give UWSP a lead in the first period at Augsburg. The following evening Miller grabbed his second goal of the weekend in the opening frame to help guide UWSP to a 5-1 victory over Saint John's.

Dan Squires: Squires went 5-1 over the weekend at the Budd Whitehill Duals in Williamsport, Pa.  He won by fall with just 8 seconds remaining in his match against Wesleyan on Saturday.  His other four wins were via decision.  His only defeat of the weekend came by a close 5-3 score to NCAA qualifier Deuly Espinal of Cortland.

Adrienne Lewis: Lewis won the 60-meter dash in her first collegiate meet with a time of 8.03 at the Pointer Alumni meet.  It is currently the third-best mark in the conference.

Evan Torgerson: Torgerson won his first collegiate race at a distance he’d never run before winning the 600-meter run in 1:23.11 at the Pointer Alumni meet.

Brent Reierson: Reierson won the 35# weight in a personal best of 17.36 meters (56’11 ½”) at the Pointer Alumni.  It is currently the best mark in the conference and the 10th-best mark nationally.
