Magliano hit an incredible .459 over six matches last week and totaled 21 blocks.  She swung at a .545 clip with a pair of blocks to open the week in a win over Lawrence.  In the next match, she racked up 11 kills and four blocks in a sweep of St. Norbert.  In Friday’s wins, she had double figure kills against both Saint Benedict and No. 23 St. Thomas while recording nine blocks.  Her impressive week continued on Saturday as she finished the weekend with a .600 hitting percentage and four blocks against Finlandia to help UWSP to a 6-0 week.  Magliano added four digs and a service ace to her repertoire on the week.

Other Nominees: 

Kendra Kundinger: Kundinger piled up 115 digs over an defeated six-match week.  She began her week with 17 digs in a win over Lawrence and had six in the win over St. Norbert before exiting with an injury.  She returned to the floor on Friday and totaled 50 digs over the two wins, including 30 in a four-set victory over No. 23 St. Thomas.  Kundinger added six assists and three service aces on the week as well to help UWSP improve to 13-2.

Alexis Petersen: Petersen has meshed well in filling a center back role in her first season with UWSP.  She was a pivotal piece on defense in UWSP’s two shutout wins this week.  In Wednesday’s win at Lawrence, Petersen aided the Pointers defense that allowed just three total shot in the match.  Against a previously undefeated Ripon squad, Petersen helped to limit the Red Hawks to just six total shot in the team’s fifth shutout win of the year.
