Wirkus sparked a 12-point run to defeat the 12th-ranked Millikin squad to end the UW-Stevens Point Invitational.  She started the second set against the Big Blue with five service aces in the 12-point run as the Pointers rallied from down a set to defeat Millikin in four sets.  She also earned her second double-double of the season with 12 kills and 11 digs in the win over Millikin.  She started her week with a 16-digs performance in the road win against Lakeland.  Then on Friday, she had 12 kills and hit .300 in a victory over Bethel.  On the week, she served up 12 aces, had 51 digs, 44 kills and added nine assists and three blocks.  She was also named to the UW-Stevens Point Invitational all-tournament team.
 
Other nominees:
Kendra Kundinger- Kundinger piled up 88 digs over the five matches on the week to aid UWSP in a 4-1 week.  Her week started with 29 digs in a win at Lakeland.  She recorded double-digit digs in all four matches of the UW-Stevens Point Invitational to earn all-tournament honors.  She also had multiple assists in all five matches totaling 15 on the week.  Kundinger also added four service aces.
 
Francesca Hamilton- Hamilton found the back of the net four times over the three matches for UWSP this week.  In Tuesday’s victory over Crown, she tallied the game-winner among her two goal outing.  She also added an assist in the match.  Then on Sunday, Hamilton again notched a pair of goals in a win over Illinois Institute of Technology.  With her stellar week, she now leads the team and the league with four goals and 10 points on the year.
 
Sarah Peplinski- Peplinski allowed just one goal against in 240 minutes of action in net last week.  She recorded her second clean sheet of the year on Sunday making two saves to shut out Illinois Institute of Technology on Sunday.  She earned the win in Tuesday’s victory over Crown with no goals against.  Then on Friday, she stopped seven shots while allowing a single goal against in 99 minutes.  She had a 0.38 goals against and a .900 save percentage for the week to lower her season totals to 0.43 GAA and 0.920 save percentage.
 
Elizabeth Wilichowski- Wilichowski won both of her singles matches in straight sets to open the season on Sunday.  In the opening match, she downed her North Park opponent, 6-1 and 6-1.  Then against Carroll, she replicated the victory, 6-1 and 6-1, again.  Wilichowski was also a winner in her lone doubles matchup of the weekend.
 
Elizabeth Wilichowski and Anna Dobbe- Wilichowski and Dobbe combined for an 8-4 victory in their only doubles match together on the weekend.  They took care of North Park in the season opener, Dobbe’s first career doubles match.
