Wendels had a massive first home match for UWSP scoring two goals and adding an assist in the Pointers’ home-opening win over St. Norbert on Sunday.  She leads all WIAC players with five points on the season and is the only conference player with multiple goals scored.  All five of her points came in the second half.  Her first career goal came in the 47th minute and was an unassisted tally.  She scored again the 65th minute and added a helped in the final minute on a great cross.  She lead the team in shots taken on the season with three, all of which have been on frame.

April Gehl - 
Gehl led the Pointers to a 3-1 start at the Kathryne Pals Legacy Invitational on opening weekend.  Her 52 kills were tops on the team and earned her a spot on the all-tournament team.  She racked up double-figure kills in all four matches and hit over .300 in both of UWSP’s sweeps on Saturday, including a .526 hitting percentage against St. Scholastica.  She added 10 blocks, eight digs and three assists on the weekend.

Kendra Kundinger - Kundinger stepped into the libero role and performed admirably in the first weekend of the season.  She piled up 100 digs over the four matches and was named to the Kathryne Pals Legacy Invitational all-tournament team.  She also had at least one service ace in all four matches and totaled six on the weekend.  She added six assists and a kill to help UWSP to a 3-1 start.

Sarah Peplinski - Peplinski registered her first shutout of the season in a 6-0 drubbing of St. Norbert on Sunday.  She made five saves in the win.  Peplinski had been in net for all 180 minutes this season.  She made nine saves at St. Thomas in the season opener and holds a 0.50 goals against average with a .933 save percentage through the first weekend of play.
