Pelkofer recorded his first-career double-double by finishing with 20 points and 10 rebounds as No. 9 UW-Stevens Point opened its national title defense with a 69-61 win at UW-Superior on Saturday. The senior also added five assists and three steals and did not commit a turnover in 38 minutes. Pelkofer shot 8-for-15 (53.3 percent) from the field, including 1-for-2 from behind the arc, and made all three of his free throws in the win. Pelkofer had seven points during a 16-3 run in the first half that helped the Pointers build a 30-16 lead and UW-Stevens Point led by at least six points the rest of the way.
