Karlen set career-highs in tackles (12), tackles for a loss (7.5) and sacks (4) as the UW-Stevens Point defense shut down UW-La Crosse in a 31-3 victory on Saturday. The senior’s four sacks are the most by a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) player this season. Ten of Karlen’s 12 tackles were of the solo variety and his 7.5 tackles for a loss set the Eagles back 30 yards. Karlen’s performance helped the Pointers limit the Eagles to 17 yards on 38 rushes and 143 yards of total offense.
