VerVelde moved into second place in program history in points by a kicker (185) after kicking five extra points and a field goal in UW-Stevens Point’s 38-28 win over UW-Eau Claire on Saturday. The senior is just one point behind Dave Schneider’s program record of 186 points. VerVelde’s 27-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter gave the Pointers a two-score lead with 10:37 remaining. He also kicked his 100th career extra point in the game and currently leads all WIAC kickers in scoring (8.8 pts/game).
