Almonte averaged 27.7 yards on six kickoff returns in UW-Stevens Point’s 65-52 loss at Albion in the Pointers’ season opener on Saturday evening. Almonte had a 41-yard return to the Albion 49 that set up a UW-Stevens Point touchdown and three of his returns set the Pointers up past their own 40-yard line. Almonte’s 211 all-purpose yards led all WIAC players this weekend.
