Men's Hockey Falls 2-1 to Hamline in Home Opener

STEVENS POINT, Wis- Hamline used a pair of power-play goals to knock off the No. 3/4 UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team, 2-1, Friday evening at K.B. Willett Arena in the Pointers' home opener.
 
At the 16:58 mark of the second period, Hamline's (2-1-0) Brandon Reinholtz tallied the Pipers' second power-play goal of the game to jump out to a 2-1 advantage over UWSP (2-1-0) heading into the final frame.
 
The Pointers were unable to net the equalizer in the third period, skating with an extra attacker for the final 1:21 of regulation.
 
In the first period, Mitch McPherson scored 4:14 into the game to give the Pipers an early 1-0 lead.
 
In the second, freshman forward Zach Zech (South Lyon, MI) tallied his first career goal, tucking one in the upper corner to tie the game at one.
 
Senior goaltender Max Milosek (Lapeer, MI/) made 19 saves for the Pointers, while Justin Quale made 26 stops for Hamline.
 
The Pointers look to get back to their winning ways taking on Bethel tomorrow evening (Nov. 4) at K.B. Willett Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
