DULUTH, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point volleyball team dropped the final two matches of the regular season on Saturday afternoon, falling to Northwester College of Minnesota 3-1 and the College of St. Scholastica 3-0.
After taking the first set 25-20 against Northwester, the Pointers were unable to overcome the Eagles attack as Northwester rattled off three straight victories to cruise to the 3-1 win.
Against the Saints of St. Scholastica, the Pointers fell behind early and could not recover, dropping all three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-13.
Senior
Pam Nora (Forest Lake, Minn.) led the Pointers on the day with 19 kills, averaging 2.7 kills set.
Christina Brinkman (Bristol) added 17 kills on the day while
Michaela Rheineck (St. Paul, MN) added 12.
Bonnie Segl (Woodbury, MN) tallied 33 assists on the weekend and Brinkman led the Pointers with 26 digs.
The Pointers return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 3 when the travel to Platteville to face the Pioneers in the quarterfinal round of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) tournament. Action is scheduled for 7 p.m.
