MADISON – The UW-Stevens Point volleyball team tallied two victories on Wednesday evening, defeating Milwaukee School of Engineering and Edgewood College by identical scores of 3-0. The two non-conference victories improve the Pointers to 13-19 overall heading into the final weekend of the regular season.

The Pointers opened the night with their 3-0 victory over the Raiders of MSOE by scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-11. UWSP was led by senior
Pam Nora (Forest Lake, Minn.), who tallied 11 kills in 23 attempts and added 12 digs and three aces.
Morgan Bartkowiak (Slinger) and
Michaela Rheineck (St. Paul, MN) each added nine kills for the Pointers who snapped a five-game losing streak.
Chantel York (Lake Geneva) led the way with 22 assists while
Bonnie Segl (Woodbury, MN) added 20.
Christina Brinkman (Bristol) led the team with 17 digs.
Against the Eagles of Edgewood College, the Pointers stayed in control for the first set, winning 25-20. In the second and third sets, the Pointers held off a charge from the Eagles to secure 25-23, 25-23 victories.
Brinkman led the charge for the Pointers, recording a team-high 10 kills and added 13 digs for sixth double-double of the year.
Kaitlin Wolfe (Roscoe, IL) added eight kills and York added 17 assists.
The Pointers close out the regular season this weekend with a trip to Duluth, Minn. for matches against Northwestern (Minn.) and St. Scholastica.
