UWSP Athletic Entertainment consists of basketball cheerleading, the dance team, football cheerleading and the school mascot Stevie Pointer.
While the Cheerleading teams are affiliated with the UWSP Athletic Department, the Dance Team is a student organization.
The teams provide spirit and excitement at UW-Stevens Point's home events, creating a dynamic home game atmosphere. Students are invited to become a part of any of the teams and cheer on the Pointers.

Cheerleading Teams
The cheerleading teams perform at UW-Stevens Point home sporting events and take part in competitions when there are no conflicts with sporting events. Tryouts are held in the fall of each year for each of the teams. Each squad consists of about 10-14 members.

UWSP Dance Team
The dance team performs at home football, men's basketball games and various other sporting events. The dance team consists of 12-18 team members and performs pom and jazz routines throughout the season. The team not only performs at UW-Stevens Point events, but also in State and National competitions. UW-Stevens Point dance team has won the UPA AmeriCup Pom Division Collegiate National Championship eight consecutive seasons, and also just won the Collegiate Jazz Champion title this past season!
Tryouts will be held on Tuesday September 6th (in the Berg Gym) 6-9 PM, Wednesday September 7th from 7-9 PM, and Thursday September 8th from 6-8 PM in Studio 110 in the Health Enhancement Center (HEC). We are looking forward to once again create a wonderful team full of talent, energy, and fun!

Mascots
One of the most recognizable faces at every UW-Stevens Point athletics event is Stevie Pointer. Students have the opportunity to serve as the mascot through a tryout session. Individuals wishing to be a mascot should contact Mike Okray at mokray@uwsp.edu.
The Stevie Pointer mascot is also available for community appearances for a small fee. Individuals or companies wishing to invite Stevie Pointer for an event should contact the athletics department.
