LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UW-Stevens Point senior Maddie Candre (St. Charles, Ill./East) added a third National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) all-region nod to her treasure trove of honors. She received third-team laurels this year, her third-consecutive season earning all-region honors.

Candre backs up her first-team All-WIAC selection with an all-region nod. She adds the third all-region honor to her portfolio that includes WIAC Player of the Year accolades in 2021 and three all-conference awards.

She started all 41 games for the Pointers this season. She led the team in at-bats, hits, doubles, runs scored, total bases, walks and slugging percentage. Her .378 average was second on the team and ninth in the WIAC.

In March, Candre claimed sole possession of the career doubles lead and closed her career with a program record 55 doubles. She became the school's leader in career hits in April and had 213 in her career.

Candre finished her career with 135 runs scored, the second-most in program history and just two shy of tying the school record. Her 74 career walks is also second in school history. She is third on the all-time at-bats (544) and stolen bases (39).

On the season, Candre had 18 multi-hit games, including two three-hit performances. She helped the Pointers set another single-season team record for stolen bases. Candre also helped the Pointers reached the WIAC Tournament title game for the first time since 2001.
