LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UW-Stevens Point softball senior Maddie Candre (St. Charles, Ill./East) was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region VIII second team, the organization announced Monday (May 16).

Candre repeats as an all-region selection after earning third-team honors in 2021. In 2021, Candre was also the WIAC Position Player of the Year and an All-WIAC first-team selection.
 
She led the Pointers in hitting with a .405 batting average this season.  She had 14 doubles, two home runs, 13 RBI and 29 runs scored this season. She also drew a team-best and league-high 23 walks this season.
 
On the final day of the regular season, and in her final at-bat, Candre tied the school record for career doubles with her 44th. She went 3-for-3 in the final game of the season, her 13th multi-hit game of the season.
