WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. -- The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team fell by a 9-0 score against the University of Northwestern (Minn.) on Friday night.

Newcomers Danielle Buckley and Samara Suomi battled to a 9-7 defeat in the number 3 doubles match.  Individually, Buckley fell 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 while Suomi was downed 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6.

Abbey Johnson (Black River Falls, Wis./Black River Falls), Frances Weiss (Sussex, WI/Sussex-Hamilton) and Elizabeth WIlichowski earned points in both set of their respective matches, but came up short in the end.

The Pointers host Saint Mary's on Sunday, Feb. 26, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
