Pointers to host Concordia (Wis.) in first round of NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team received one of 19 at-large bids into the NCAA Tournament and will host Concordia (Wis.) in the first round on Friday, March 6 at 8 p.m.

UW-Stevens Point (21-5) is making its ninth-straight appearance in the national tournament and its 14th in program history. The Pointers will take on the Falcons (19-9), which earned the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) automatic bid, in the second game of the night.

In the other first-round matchup on Friday, Illinois Wesleyan (19-8) will play Dubuque (23-5) at 5 p.m. The winners of the two games will then play on Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m. for a berth in the sectional rounds.

UW-Stevens Point is 30-10 all-time in the NCAA Tournament and has won three national championships (2004, 2005, 2010).

Tickets will go on sale at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3. Fans can call 715-346-4100 to pre-purchase tickets. Tickets for each game will be $8 for adults and $4 for students college age and under.

All seating for the 5 p.m. game will be general admission. All seating for the 8 p.m. game will be reserved. Fans wishing to attend both contests can purchase tickets to both for $12.
