STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team picked up a pair of non-conference dual victories by defeating Lakeland and Concordia (Wis.) on Saturday in the Berg Gym.

UWSP - CUWIn the first dual against Lakeland, the Pointers (5-3) defeated the Muskies 41-6. The Pointers picked up wins by
Jared Kust (Shawano, WI/Shawano),
David Granatelli (Appleton, WI/Appleton North),
Jaden Boivin (Marinette, WI/Marinette),
Dan Squires (Muskego, WI/Wisconsin Lutheran), and
Bo Seibel (Cambellsport, WI/Kewaskum).
Squires picked up his win via pin over Mason Lind and Kust defeated Ian Gioacchini by tech fall. The Pointers also picked up four wins by forfeit.
In the second dual against Concordia (Wis.), the Pointers defeated the Falcons 35-6.
Ben Vosters (Hatley, WI/Wittenberg-Birnamwood) picked up a major decision victory 13-5 over Kameron Bourgeois at 125 pounds.
Jared Kust (Shawano, WI/Shawano) also had a major decision when he defeated Joshua Curcio 12-2 at 141 pounds.
Other wins for the Pointers included a pin by
Boone Roycraft (Omro, WI/Winneconne) at 157 pounds over Tristan Zabinski in 2:34 and
Dan Squires (Muskego, WI/Wisconsin Lutheran) with a major decision at 174 pounds.
David Granatelli (Appleton, WI/Appleton North),
Bo Seibel (Cambellsport, WI/Kewaskum) and
Donny Ralston (Ladysmith, WI/Bruce) also had wins in their matches.
Clay Lieber (Nekoosa, WI/Nekoosa) received a win via forfeit.
The Pointers are off for the holiday break and return to action for the Al Hanke Invitational in Elmhurst, Ill. on Jan. 16.
