STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The No. 5 UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team recorded its second consecutive 9-4 win, scoring eight goals over the final two periods to defeat Bethel on Put A Check To Cancer Night on Saturday evening at K.B. Willett Arena.

Joe Kalisz (Davison, MI/Davison) led the way with two goals and an assist but 15 different players recorded a point for the Pointers, who outshot Bethel (2-15-2) by a 41-18 margin.
Kalisz got the scoring started midway through the first period after being set up by
Sean Gammage (Wildwood, MO), who recorded his first two points of the season with a pair of assists. After goals by
Scott Henegar (Trenton, MI/Trenton) and
Drew Graves (Allen Park, MI/Allen Park ) 27 seconds apart early in the second period, Kalisz added his second of the night and 14th of the season on the power play to make it 4-0.
With the Pointers leading 4-0, Bethel got on the board with Philip Cameron's shorthanded goal in the final two minutes of the second period. However,
Andrew Kolb (Toledo, OH/Toledo Catholic) hit right back for UWSP with 19 seconds remaining in the period.
The teams combined to score seven goals in the third period, four for UW-Stevens Point.
Alex Kromm (Penticton, BC) and
Evan Dixon (Novi, MI) each scored shorthanded in the final period, while
Kevin Gibson (Grosse Pointe, MI/North) and
Eliot Grauer (Mukilteo, WA/Kamiak) added goals, Gibson's on the power play.
Michael Chuinard, Dylan Webster and Mitch Hughes each scored for the Royals in the third.
Like Kalisz,
Logan Lemirande (Janesville, WI) had a three-point night, tallying three assists. Kromm, Henegar and Gibson each had a goal and an assist in the contest.
Brandon Jaeger (Champlin, MN/Champlin Park) picked up his 12th win of the season by making 11 saves in just 49:49 in net.
Cody Stocker (Cave Creek, AZ/Notre Dame Prep) played just over 10 minutes after replacing Jaeger after UWSP's ninth goal.
Matt Rowe went the distance in net for Bethel, making 32 stops.
UW-Stevens Point plays a home-and-home series with UW-Stout on Friday & Saturday, Feb. 6-7. The teams play at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in Menomonie and at 7 p.m. at K.B. Willett Arena the next night.
