UW-SP Head Coach: Chris Brooks is in his fourth season behind the bench at UWSP. In 2014, he was named a finalist for the Edward Jeremiah Award, given to the Division III Coach of the Year. Brooks has compiled an overall record of 52-28-7, including a 22-6-2 mark during the 2013-14 campaign.

Gustavus Adolphus Head Coach Brett Petersen: Brett Petersen is entering his 15th season as the head coach of the Gustavus Adolphus men's hockey team. Named MIAC Coach of the Year twice, once in 2001-02 and again in 2009-10, Petersen has compiled an overall record of 199-149-32, including a 16-7-4 record during the 2013-14 season.

About Gustavus Adolphus: In their first weekend of action, Gustavus Adolphus lost its season opener to Bethel University
4-2, before securing a
6-3 victory against St. Olaf. Jake Bushey is the points leader for Gustavus Adolphus with three points (two goals, one assist), all coming in the game against St. Olaf. Half of the Gusties' eight goals this season have come in the third period.

Off To A Hot Start: The UW-Stevens Point offense got out to a quick start on the year when
Alex Kromm (Penticton, BC) scored the first goal of the season just 50 seconds into the
11-0 win against Finlandia. Nine different Pointers tallied multi-point games, led by
Joe Kalisz (Davison, MI/Davison)'s team-high four-point night (two goals, two assists), which tied his career-high.
Andrew Kolb (Toledo, OH/Toledo Catholic) scored three points (one goal, two assists) and
Kevin Gibson (Grosse Pointe, MI/North) (three assists) each added three points.
Nick D'Avolio (North Riverside, IL) was the only other player to register a multi-goal evening with two goals. Other offensive contributions came from
Kyle Brodie (Denver, CO/Northglenn),
Garrett Ladd (Fenton, MI/Fenton),
Alex Brooks (Grand Rapids, MI),
Scott Henegar (Trenton, MI/Trenton) and
Kyle Sharkey (Moore, OK/Insight School of Kansas), who all had two points apiece.

In the Rankings: After an impressive opening night victory UW-Stevens Point still holds the No. 2 spot in the
USCHO.com poll. There is not a new
D3hockey.com poll this week. Gustavus Adolphus is receiving votes in both sets of rankings.

All-time series: The all-time series between UW-Stevens Point and Gustavus Adolphus is tied 5-5-1. Under Brooks, the Pointers are 2-1-0 against the Gusties, which includes an
8-4 victory last year in Stevens Point. Ladd led the Pointers with four points (one goal, three assists) against Gustavus Adolphus in last season's win.

St. Olaf's Head Coach Sean Goldsworthy: Sean Goldsworthy is in his 18th season as the head coach of the St. Olaf men's hockey team. In his tenure for St. Olaf Goldsworthy has led the Oles to four straight Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Playoff berths from 2003-04 to 2006-07. Goldsworthy was selected as the MIAC's Coach of the Year in 2009 after leading St. Olaf to its first regular season MIAC title since 1938-39.

Tough Defense: In the opening game victory, the Pointers held Finlandia to just 11 shots on goal.
Brandon Jaeger (Champlin, MN/Champlin Park) made all 11 saves in recording the seventh shutout of his UW-Stevens Point career. The Pointers went on the penalty kill three times and held Finlandia to 0-for-3 on the power play.

All-time series: UW-Stevens Point leads the all-time series with St. Olaf 12-3-0. Under Brooks, the Pointers are a perfect 3-0-0 against the Oles, including an
8-1 win last season.

Up next: Next weekend, UW-Stevens Point hosts a pair of MIAC teams at K.B. Willett Arena. The Pointers host No. 12 St. Thomas (0-1-1) for Parents Weekend on Friday, Nov. 14.
