ANGOLA, Ind. – UW-Stevens Point sophomore Mary Welch (Madison, WI/West) continued her quest for an individual national title on Wednesday, shooting a 78 on day two, leaving her tied for 13th place with a two-day total of 155 (+11).

Welch was three over through nine holes and finished with a three-over 39 on the back for her 78 (+6).
 
14-time defending champion Methodist University overcame a three shot deficit on day one to take a one stroke lead over DePauw University. Fellow Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference member UW-Eau Claire is in third.
 
Third round action for the championship is set for Thursday, May 10 at Zollner Golf Course.
