MADISON, Wis. –Four UW-Stevens Point softball players garnered All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference accolades for their efforts during the 2012 season.
Junior
Katie Krueger (Plover, WI/SPASH), sophomore
Bekah Rennicke (Mequon, WI/Homestead) and freshman
Jordon Schreiner (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) were all named Honorable Mention All-WIAC while senior
Kelly Arndt (Ashwaubenon, WI/Ashwaubenon) was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
Krueger led the team in hits (44),) total bases (49) and tied for first in doubles (9). The junior was second in batting average (.366), RBIs (20) and on base percentage (.394).
Rennicke led the Pointers in batting average (.381) and on base percentage (.441) while finishing second in slugging percentage (.464), third in hits (32) and fourth in total bases (39).
Schreiner led the team in runs scored (16) and tied for first in doubles (9). The freshman was third in batting average (.337), slugging percentage (.423), on base percentage (.389) and total bases (44).
Arndt led the team in homeruns (5) and RBIs (21) along with being second in total bases (48). The lone senior started in 28 games and anchored the Pointer defense from behind the plate where she recorded 123 putouts and threw out nine base runners.
The Pointers closed out the season with 14-24 record (3-13 WIAC).
