STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point sophomore Mary Welch (Madison, WI/West) has been named a 2011-12 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) NCAA Division III All-American, the organization announced this week.

Welch joins UW-Eau Claire's Catherine Wagner and Sara Mattes as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honorees to the list.

Welch earned Honorable Mention All-American accolades along with All-Central Region Honors. She is just the second women's golfer in UWSP history to earn All-American status.

Welch finished eighth at the 2012 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship in Angola, Ind.
