AUSTIN, Texas –
Joe Ritchay (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln) led six Pointers scoring in double figures but the Tornados proved to be too much as Concordia-Austin rolled to a 96-82 victory over the fifth-ranked Pointers on Monday afternoon at CTX Field House.

Concordia (8-2) controlled the game from the opening tip, building a 7-0 advantage before the Pointers responded with a run of their own, taking a 17-16 lead at the midway point of the opening stanza.
The teams exchanged the lead six times before the halftime break. Leading 32-31, the Tornados used a 17-6 run to take a four-point edge into halftime, 48-44.
Tied at 73 with 6:06 remaining, the Tornados used a 23-9 run to roll to the 14-point victory.
The 96 points is the most the Pointers have surrendered in a game since the 2006-07 season in a 101-92 loss to Northern Michigan.
Ritchay tallied a team-high 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting while
Austin Ryf (Winneconne, WI/Winneconne) chipped in with 14,
Jordan Giordana (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) had 13,
Trevor Hass (New London, WI/New London/Augustana (SD)) had 12,
DeVon Jackson (Milwaukee/Rufus King/Williston State) 11 and
Clayton Heuer (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln/UW-Green Bay) added 10 points and eight rebounds.
Concordia's Nick Haynes led all scorers with 28 points and Dwayne Patterson added 21.
UW-Stevens Point (10-2) returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 3 against UW-River Falls. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Bennett Court at Quandt Fieldhouse.
