MADISON, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point senior guard Tyler Tillema (Randolph, WI/Randolph) has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) men's basketball Athlete of the Week for his efforts in leading the No. 9 Pointers to a 2-0 week.

Tillema led the Pointers to wins at home against St. John's (Minn.) and on the road at Buena Vista (Iowa).  Against the Johnnies, Tillema tallied 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc.  He also recorded seven assists, six rebounds and four steals in the victory.  In the road win against the Beavers, he was 9-for-16 from the field, including 4-for-5 from the free throw line for 22 points, while adding six rebounds, four assists and three steals. 

On the week, Tillema averaged 20 points, six rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game, while shooting 16-for-27 (.590) from the field and .500 from beyond the arc.
