STEVENS POINT – UW-Stevens Point's Samantha Scheving (Warroad, MN/Warroad) scored the equalizer with 1:20 remaining in the third period and hit the post three times in overtime but the Pointers could only muster a 1-1 tie against the 10^th-ranked Yellowjackets of UW-Superior Friday evening at Ice Hawks Arena.

Superior scored the game's first goal in the second period, as Chelsey Wierschem found the back of the net at the 16:46 mark, on the power play, giving the Yellowjackets the early edge. 

Scheving scored with 1:20 remaining in regulation, just two seconds into the extra skater advantage, knotting the score at 1-1 and forcing overtime. 

In the overtime, the Pointers tallied 12 shots on net, dominating the five minute extra session thanks to a 5-3 advantage for almost two minutes, but could not put the puck into the net, as Superior goaltender Shanley Peters turned away each shot to preserve the tie. 

UW-Stevens Point (13-6-2, 9-6-2 NCHA) and UW-Superior (11-6-7, 9-3-7 NCHA) return to the ice Saturday with face-off set for 2:30 p.m. The Pointers will also celebrate Senior Day Saturday.
