STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team notched their second shutout of the season and third consecutive win as they defeated UW-Eau Claire 1-0 Friday night at Ice Hawks Arena.
 
Cassandra Salmen (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater) scored the lone goal of the game with just under a minute left in the first period. Brooke Hanson (Maple Grove, MN/Maple Grove) and Ariel Novak (Lindstrom, MN/Chisago Lakes) were credited with assists.
 
Janna Beilke-Skoug (Madison, WI/East) tallied 24 saves for the Pointers while UW-Eau Claire's Morgan Pieper recorded 14 saves.
 
UWSP (6-2-1, 5-2-0 NCHA) and UW-Eau Claire (2-8-1, 2-7-0 NCHA) will conclude the weekend series Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Ice Hawks Arena.
