PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team picked up its first conference victory on Thursday evening with a 33-3 win over the Pioneers of UW-Platteville. 
 
The Pointers built an early lead thanks to wins by Dustin Wozniak (Stanley, WI/Stanley-Boyd) at 197 pounds, Matt Cuadra (Oshkosh, WI/West) at 285 pounds and a forfeit victory by Lance Fabry (Ashwaubenon, WI/Ashwaubenon) at 125 pounds.
 
The lone Pioneer points of the evening came at 133 pounds, where sixth-ranked T.J. Wunnicke recorded a 7-3 win over second-ranked Joe Mileski (Gladstone, MI/Gladstone). 
 
The Pointers rebounded to secure victories at every weight class the rest of the way, including wins by Jordan Kust (Clintonville, WI/Shawano), Shane Sweeney (Madison, WI/Edgewood), Ben Strobel (Neenah, WI/Neenah), Jordan Schulte (Mosinee, WI/Mosinee), Ryan Conat (New London, WI/New London) and Andy Borchardt (Edgar, WI/Edgar). 
 
The Pointers (2-4, 1-1 WIAC) return to action in the New Year in Chicago at the Cliff Keen NWCA Duals.
