STEVENS POINT – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team tallied five goals by five different players on Friday evening to earn a 5-0 shutout victory over the Sabres of Marina University at Ice Hawks Arena.

Sam Lorr (Chisago, MN/Chisago Lakes) tallied the game's first goal at the 5:17 mark of the opening period and it was all Pointers from there as Ariel Novak (Lindstrom, MN/Chisago Lakes) and Michelle Lunneborg (Richfield, MN/Richfield) tallied second period goals and Allie Tanzer (Chippewa Falls, WI/Chippewa Falls) and Brooke Hanson (Maple Grove, MN/Maple Grove) tallied third period goals to earn the Pointers the victory.  

Staci Pomering (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah) earned the win in goal, stopping all 10 Sabre shots on target. 

The Pointers (10-6-1, 6-6-1 NCHA) return to the ice tomorrow in Fond du Lac where they will wrap up the season series with Marian. Face-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
