STEVENS POINT – On Parents & Senior night the 21st ranked UW-Stevens Point wrestling team could not stop the 16th ranked UW-Whitewater squad as they fell by a score of 20-13 in the Berg Gymnasium on Friday evening.

Ben Engelland (Neenah/Neenah) started the Pointers off quick with a 7-1 win at 184 pounds putting the Pointers up 3-0. The junior improved his record to 25-0 and is currently ranked second by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).

The Pointers brought the match back to a 6-7 score with a victory by eighth ranked Joe Mileski (Gladstone, MI/Gladstone) in at 125 pounds. Mileski won the match 5-2 and has a 14-9 overall record.

The Warhawks then took the next four matches including a 12-4 victory in the 141 pound class by Senior Austin Bautista. Bautista is ranked first and his record now stands at 30-2.

The Pointers took the last two matches in the evening but the final was already decided. Freshman Jordan Schulte (Mosinee, WI/Mosinee) moved his record to 20-7 with a dominating 12-4 victory at 165 pounds.

Dennis Reckelberg (New Franken/Luxemburg-Casco) also won his 174 pound match with a hard fought 6-0 victory. Reckelberg's record now stands at 17-11.

UW-Stevens Point (9-11, 2-2 WIAC) will return to the mat next Friday, February 12 as they travel to top-ranked Augsburg College with action beginning at 7 p.m.
