HANCOCK, Mich. – Jessica Edward (Sherrard, IL/Shattuck St. Mary's (MN))'s short-handed goal just 29 seconds into the third period knotted the score at 1-1 and Ann Hulme (Shaker Heights, OH/Phillips Exeter (NH)) recorded seven of her nine saves in the third period as the UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team skated to a 1-1 tie against the Lions of Finlandia University Saturday evening.

The tie moves the Pointers to 12-9-3 overall, 7-5-3 in NCHA play.

After a scoreless first period, the Lions struck at the 13:07 mark of the second, as Alisha Ellertson scored the even strength goals, putting Finlandia up 1-0.

Edward's tied the score at 1-1 with her 10th goal of the season early in the third and the Pointers then held on to force overtime.

In the overtime period, Finlandia's Casey Fiore stopped all three of the Pointer shots on net to preserve the tie.

The two teams return to action Sunday afternoon at the Houghton County Ice Arena in the regular season finale for both teams.
