Pointers Post First at Point Quad

STEVENS POINT – The Pointer women's track and field pulled out a win Saturday afternoon at the Pointer Quad with 187 team points, 27 ahead of St. Norbert College.

St. Scholastica finished the event in third while Ripon College and Lawrence University finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Elizabeth Caine (Plover/SPASH) led the way for the Pointers placing first in two events. She posted a time of 7.47 seconds in the 55 meter dash and 26.74 in the 200 meter dash.

Kathleen Folbrecht (Jefferson/Jefferson) ran to a first place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 58.61 seconds. Sarah Glunn (Arborvitae/Lakeland Union)'s time of 2:22.46 was best in the 800 meter run as was Kelly Haen (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) 5:18.80 time in the one mile run and Claire Roberts (Oakfield/Horace Mann) 10:13.84 time in the 3000 meter run.

Sara Kline (Casco/Luxemberg-Casco) time of 8.6 seconds edged out Erin Kline (Casco, WI/Luxemburg-Casco)'s time of 8.65 in the 55 meter hurdles for the first place finish.

The only first place finisher in the field events came from Bethany Utecht (Fredonia/Northern Ozaukee) with a distance of 13.65 meters in the weight throw.

The women's team will be back in action February 5th and 6th as they will host the Pointer “Mulit-Event” in the Multi-Activity Center.
