MINNEAPOLIS - The UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team remains the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation this week, collecting all 25 first place votes for the second consecutive week in the D3hoops.com Top-25 poll.
It is the first time since weeks eight and nine of the 2004-05 season the Pointers have been the unanimous choice for the nation's No. 1 team.
The Pointers improved their record to 17-1 last week with a pair of road victories at UW-Eau Claire and UW-Oshkosh.
The Pointers host a pair of WIAC opponents this week, when they play host to fifth-ranked UW-Whitewater on Wednesday and UW-Superior on Saturday. The Warhakws handed the Pointers their only loss of the 2009-10 campaign, a 67-60 overtime loss in Whitewater. The Yellowjackets gave the Pointers their closest test of the season, a 56-53 decision that came down to the wire in Superior.
The Pointers and Warhawks are set for tip-off on Wednesday evening, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. in Quandt Fieldhouse on Bennett Court.
