SOMERS, Wis.- The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team held leads early against UW-Parkside, but a late push by the Rangers gave the nation's No. 7 ranked team in Division II a 23-12 victory over the nation's 20th-ranked Division III team Wednesday evening at DeSimone Gym.

Jordan Schulte (Mosinee) gave the Pointers a 3-0 advantage winning his opening bout at 165 pounds and Ben Engelland (Neenah) added to that lead at 184, pushing his record to 20-0 overall and giving the Pointers a 6-4 edge.

Bret Oswald (Antigo) again re-took the lead for the Pointers with a 3-1 victory at 285 pounds, making the score 9-7 Pointers.

From there, the Rangers rattled off four straight victories from 125-149, one by pin and another by major decision, to give the Rangers the 23-9 advantage. Andrew Dilworth (Greendale) closed out the match with his 15th win of the season at 157 pounds, a 7-0 decision that made the final score 23-12.

UW-Stevens Point (7-8, 2-1 WIAC) returns to the mat on Saturday, Jan. 23 at the Border Brawl, hosted by UW-Whitewater.
