Andrea Wagner (Apple Valley, MN) and
Anna Nyland (Eau Claire) made it a clean sweep of the weekly women's swimming and diving awards from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, collecting the Swimmer and Diver of the Week awards from the league's office.
Wagner had three first-place finishes and one second-place finish at a tri-dual against UW-Whitewater and UW-Oshkosh on Jan. 16. She finished first in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle with times of 25.20 and 55.64, respectively. In the 100-yard butterfly, Wagner placed second with a time of 1:02.94. She completed her weekend by leading the 400-yard freestyle team to a victory of over seven seconds faster than the second-place team.
Nyland won both diving events at a tri-dual against UW-Whitewater and UW-Oshkosh on Jan. 16. She tallied a score of 210.65 in the one-meter event and a mark of 212.10 in the three-meter competition.
The Pointers return to action Jan. 22-23 when they host the Point Invite. Action begins each day at 9 a.m.
