PLATTEVILLE - The Pointer women's golf team shot a combined 719 in two days, good enough for a second place finish at the UW-Platteville Team Fall Invite. The Pointers had three individuals place in the top five but were unable to top the Warhawks of UW-Whitewater, who posted a score of 706.
Results
Jessica Urban (Hartland) led the Pointers with a score of 160, making her the tournament champion. Scores of 81 and 79 in the gusty wind proved to be just low enough to earn the victory.
Danelle Olson (Detroit Lakes, MN), fresh off her second place finish at the UW-Whitewater tournament, finished in fourth with a score of 174. Teammate
Mary Donohue (Portage) finished one shot behind at 175, placing her in 5th for the weekend.
Olivia Scheifelbein (Johnson Park, IA) chipped in with a score of 210, good enough for 27th place.
The Pointers return to the links on Saturday, Oct. 3rd, when they will host the two-day Stevens Point Invitational at the Stevens Point Country Club. First tee-off is scheduled for 11 a.m.
