MADISON - The UW-Stevens Point 4x800-meter relay team has been chosen as this week's recipient of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Track Athletes of the Week Award.

The quartet of Adam Lang (Sheboygan), David Litsheim (Appleton), Greg Haak (Belleville) and Adam Steinke (Hewitt) broke a 25-year old school record in finishing second in the 4x800-meter relay at the Drake Relays. Their time of 7:31.00 was 0.38 seconds faster than the third-place finisher and is the best performance in the country this season in NCAA Division III.

The Pointers return to action this weekend at the WIAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by UW-Oshkosh on May 1-2.
