At 133,
Jered Kern (Mosinee) suffered an opening round loss to #4 Matt Kelly of Wartburg 7-5 and then ran into #3 ranked Brandon Clemmer of Delaware Valley in the consolation side of the bracket, falling 5-1.
At 141,
Chase DeCleene (Ashwaubenon) posted an opening round win over Craig Fechko of Heidelberg 8-7 but was sent to the consolation bracket by Williams' Corey Paulish, who posted a 6-5 victory over Chase in the second round. In the consolation bracket, DeCleene tallied a 13-9 victory over Waynesburg's Nick Garber and will face John Paxos of Ithica tomorrow.
At 165,
Jake Wozniak (Stanley, Stanley-Boyd), who entered the tournament ranked seventh, suffered a first round loss to Tyler Goble of Rose Hul 3-2. In the consolation side, Wozniak tallied a 12-7 victory over UW-La Crosse's Cory Ferguson before falling to Christopher Dahlheimer of Lycoming 6-2.
And at 184, with his national championship hopes still alive,
Ben Engelland (Neenah) tallied victories over Nic Barclay of Luther and Ben Adams of John Carroll in the tournaments opening day to advance to facek Phil Moenkedick of Concorida-Moorhead in semifinal action tomorrow.
