Baseball
Pitcher - Jeff Zielke (Watertown), Senior
Zielke pitched 6.2 innings over two games for the Pointers on their spring trip to Florida earning a win and a save. Facing Ripon College, Zielke started and limited the Red Hawks to three hits, no runs and struck out two. In a relief effort against Fontbonne, Zielke came in and closed the door allowing no hits, one walk and struck out three to earn the save. For the trip Zielke did not allow an earned run.
Position player – Jeremy Richter (Rosholt), Junior
Richter appeared in eight games, starting in all of them, for the Pointers during their spring trip to Winter Haven, Florida. Batting 31 times Richter reached base safely 17 times with 14 hits and three walks. Richter's best performance was a 3-4 day against Greenville College in the second game of a doubleheader. Richter had three hits, all doubles, scored twice and had two RBIs. For the trip Richter had 14 hits, seven doubles and one homerun, scored nine times and had ten RBIs.
Softball
Pitcher – Kayla Kastenmeier (Ashwaubenon), Junior
Kastenmeier led the Pointers pitching with a 6-2 record in eight appearances during the softball spring trip to Florida. Kastenmeier started seven games for the Pointers, pitching three complete games. In a complete game win over Washington and Jefferson, Kastenmeier held the Presidents to one hit, no runs and struck out six. She scattered 45 hits over 49.1 innings pitched and struck out 41, allowing only seven walks and posted an ERA of 2.19.
Position Player – Lauren Watkins (Baraboo, Baraboo), Sophomore
Watkins played in ten games, starting nine, over the Pointers spring tip to Kissimmee, Florida. Logging 27 at-bats, Watkins had 11 hits including two homeruns. Her break-out game came against Westminster College in a 5-3 eight inning Pointer victory. Watkins was 3-4 with 3 singles and 11 put-outs. For the trip Watkins batted .407 with one double, two homeruns and four walks.
