Grossmann, Graves Named All-American

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Two UW-Stevens Point women's hockey players have been selected as 2009 RBK Hockey Division III Women's All-Americans. Seniors Nicole Grossmann (Lindstrom, MN, Chisago Lakes) and Rachael Graves (Bemidji, MN, Bemidji) both earned First Team honors from the West region.

The RBK Hockey All-American Ice Hockey Teams are sponsored by RBK Hockey, an international leader in hockey equipment, and chosen by members of the American Hockey Coaches Association. Due to the number of team's regionally, the coaches have established two East teams and one West team.

Grossmann was one of only two repeat selections to the 18-member list after earning first team honors in 2008. She was named the 2009 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Player of the Year. Grossmann tallied 16 goals and 28 points this season, ranking second in the league in goals scored.

Graves, who was also named to the All-NCHA team, finished third in the conference in points by a defenseman with 17, notching 13 assists and four goals on the season.

All six West Region All-Americans are Minnesota natives.
