Day Two Recap from 2009 NCAA Swimming Championships

Day Two Results

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point men's swimming and diving team is in sixth place and the women's team is in 31st after day two at the 2009 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. The men's team currently has 93 points while the women's team has nine total points.

Highlights from the day included Beth Ann Abraham (Eden Prairie), who finished in 10th place in the women's 400 IM, posting a time of 4:30.46. Liz Horvat of Emory was the first place finisher, posting an NCAA record time of 4:16.17.

On the men's side, Chase Gross (Edina, MN) posted a third place finish in the 100 butterfly, posting a time of 48.41, just behind Matthew Harris of Kenyon, who finished first with a time of 47.86. Rob Donisch (Wheaton, IL) finished 15th with a time of 50.00 in the event while Matthew Olp (Oregon) finished 16th with a time of 50.19.

In the men's 400-yard medley relay, the team of Olp, Ben Schreiber (Albert Lea, MN), Gross and Sam Davy (Stevens Point) finished in 13th place, posting a time of 3:23.65.
