STEVENS POINT - For the second straight season, the UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team will be hosting the first and second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball tournament in Berg Gymnasium.

The Pointers play host to three other teams, as Concordia-Moorhead, Concordia (Wis.) and Maryville (Mo.) all travel to Stevens Point for the first and second rounds of the 2009 Basketball Championships.

Action will tip-off on Friday, March 6 when Concordia-Moorhead, who received one of 20 at-large bids to the tournament, will face Concordia (Wis.), who earned the Northern Athletics Conference's (NAC) automatic bid to the tournament.

In the second game of Friday's action, the Pointers, winners of both the regular-season and post-season Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's (WIAC) championships will face Maryville University of St. Louis, winners of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) automatic bid.
Friday's winners will square off in the second round game on Saturday.

Game times for both first round match-ups as well as Saturday's second round game will be announced Tuesday morning.

Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, March 3 at 8 a.m. Fan can call the University Information and Ticket Office at 715-346-4100. Tickets will be $6 for adults, $4 for youth and $3 for students with ID.
