STEVENS POINT – For the third straight year, the UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team is heading to NCAA Division III men's basketball tournament.

The Pointers, who qualified for the tournament by winning the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) postseason tournament, will face the Rams of Cornell College in the opening round hosted by St. Thomas. Game time is tentatively scheduled for 6 p.m.

Friday's other first round matchup features the undefeated and top-ranked Tommies of St. Thomas versus Aurora University. That game is tentatively scheduled for 8 p.m.

The winner of the Stevens Point vs. Cornell game will advance from Friday's first round match-up to face the winner of the Aurora vs. St. Thomas first round matchup on Saturday. Saturday's game is tentatively scheduled for 7 p.m.

Approximately 500 tickets will be made available for UW-Stevens Point for Friday's game.  Tickets go on sale at the UW-Stevens Point Information and Ticket office on Tuesday.  Fans can call 715-346-4100 to purchase tickets.  Prices will be $6 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens.
