KISSIMMEE, Fla. – UW-Stevens Point split a pair of games for the second straight day at the Rebel Games in Florida, securing an 8-6 eight inning victory over Westminster before falling to Endicott 9-1 in the day's second game.
In game one,
Kayla Kastenmeier (Ashwaubenon) went the distance, hurling all eight innings for the win. On the offensive side,
Jessica Berger (Bonduel) recorded three RBI while
Lauren Watkins (Baraboo) added three hits.
Kimberly Liegel (Madison, LaFollette) added two hits including a double and the go-ahead RBI.
In game two, the Pointers jumped out to the early 1-0 lead after the first inning, but four runs in the top of the second by the Gulls was all Endicott hurler Jackie Collier needed, as she scattered just three more Pointer hits over the remaining four innings for the victory.
Samantha Bizeau (Gladstone, MI, Gladstone) and Watkins
went 2-2 in game two while Melissa Wenig (Oshkosh, West) added the only RBI of the day for the Pointers.
UW-Stevens Point (6-4) will take their day off on Wednesday and return to action on Thursday, March 19 with games against Loras and Fontbonne at the Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Fla.
