STEVENS POINT - The University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point wrestling team and five individuals have been recognized for the efforts in the classroom by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).

As a team, the Pointers posted a 3.225 team grade point average, placing them 20th on the list of the nation's top 25 NCAA Division III Scholar Teams for the 2008-09 season.

Five individuals were also recognized for their efforts in the classroom. Chase DeCleene (Ashwaubenon), Dennis Reckelberg (Luxemburg, Luxemburg-Casco), Ben Engelland (Neenah), Brett Oswald (Antio) and Chad Gregory (Lawton, Okla., Lawton) were identified by the NWCA as top performers in the classroom.

As a team, UW-La Crosse also made the list of teams honored, appearing at No. 25 on the list. The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) also had 14 other individuals honored by the NWCA.
