MADISON - UW-Stevens Point senior Chase DeCleene (Ashwaubenon/Ashwaubenon), a native of Ashwaubenon, has been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Wrestling Athlete of the Week honors for his performance on the mat.

DeCleene posted two victories during the week to finish the regular season with a record of 24-10 and nine pins. Against No. 4-ranked Tony Valek of Augsburg College (Minn.) on Feb. 13, DeCleene was victorious with a 9-6 decision. Against UW-Eau Claire on Feb. 14, he earned a 5-0 decision over Zach Weisenberger.

DeCleene and the Pointers return to action on Feb. 22 at the 54th Annual WIAC Wrestling Championships, hosted but UW-Oshkosh at the Kolf Sports Center in Oshkosh.
