STEVENS POINT - The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team tallied 26 team points on Saturday afternoon, notching a 26-15 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) victory against the Blugolds of UW-Eau Claire. The match was the final regular-season dual for the Pointers.

The Pointers began the day with three straight victories as Jake Wozniak (Stanley/Stanley-Boyd) (Stanley), Dennis Reckelberg (New Franken/Luxemburg-Casco) (Luxemburg) and Ben Engelland (Neenah/Neenah) (Neenah) tallied victories for UWSP. UW-Eau Claire got on the board at 197 as Josh Holforty tallied an 8-4 victory and earned another victory at 285 by Joe Pitsch.

After an Eau Claire forfeit at 125 and a Stevens Point victory at 133, Chase DeCleene (Ashwaubenon/Ashwaubenon) (Ashwaubenon) notched a 5-0 victory at 141 and Andrew Dilworth (Greendale/Greendale) (Greendale) added another last-second victory at 157 to help the Pointers pull away for the 11-point victory.

The Pointers finish the regular season with a record of 16-4-1, 4-1-1 in the WIAC. The team will be in action next weekend at the WIAC Championships, hosted by UW-Oshkosh.
