Ben Engelland (Neenah) took home the 2009 Pointer Open Most Outstanding Wrestler award after winning the 184 pound division championship on Saturday afternoon, defeating UW-Madison's Derrick Borlie in the final match 2-1 at the 2009 Pointer Open presented by Adventure 212.
Engelland won all four of his matches on the day, coming away with his second straight 184 pound title at the Pointer Open.
Elsewhere for the Pointers,
Jordan Kust (Clintonville) finished fourth and
Joe Mileski (Gladstone, MI) finished fourth and sixth in the 133 pound division,
Ben Strobel (Neenah) finished sixth at 149 pounds and
Jordan Schulte (Mosinee) and
Dennis Reckelberg (New Franken) finished fourth and fifth respectively at 165 pounds.
Chris Karl (Arpin) battled his way back from a second round loss to finish sixth.
Brandon Jochem (Hustisford) finished fifth at 197 pounds and
Bret Oswald (Antigo) finished his day with a third place finish in the heavyweight division, pinning Rochester's Parker Brand in 1:32 cap his day.
UW-Stevens Point returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Concordia (Wis.) Open in Mequon. Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
