Women's cross country finishes 10th

Results

WINNECONNE – The UW-Stevens Point women's cross country team ran to a 10th place finish Saturday afternoon at the Division III Midwest Regional, placing five runners in the top-70 in the field of 273 runners.

UW-Eau Claire finished as the event champion for the second straight year while Washington University (Mo.) finished second.

The top two teams and top seven individuals who are not a member of those teams will automatically qualify for next Saturday's (Nov. 21) NCAA Division III Championship in Beachwood, Ohio. Additional team and individual selections to the NCAA Division III Championship from the Midwest Regional will be announced Sunday (Nov. 15).

Claire Roberts (Oakfield) finished as the top Pointer on the day, finishing with a time of 22:41, good for 31st place. Sarah Glunn (Arbor Vitae) finished 50th with a time of 23:05, Sandy Hause (Bruce) finished 62nd with a time of 23:21, Shaun Krueger (Kiel) finished 66th with a time of 23:26 and Allison Wolter (Kaukauna) rounded out the top five finishers, crossing in 69th place with a time of 23:28.

April Sadogierski (Hatley) and Nicole Bruhn (Marshfield) finished 74th and 98th respectively with times of 23:31 and 23:58.

The Pointers, who qualified one runner, Kelly Haen (Kaukauna), for last season's national championships, will await news of any qualifiers for this season's national championships.
